The training is focused on explanation of the most important changes in labour code effective 1.1.2012 and their use in practice. You will have also an opportunity to get answers on your questions and you will get practical recommendations, examples and instructions how to solve different kinds of difficult situations and issues.

The training is especially for team leaders, managers and for all who need to learn more about Czech labour law and related topics to be able to manage their teams in compliance with the labour code.

Content of the training

  • Employment contract, probation period – calculation of probation period and cancellation of employment relationship in probation period
  • Unsatisfactory performance and how to solve it
  • Breach of discipline, written warnings
  • Termination of an employment relationship – agreement, notice of termination (dismissal x resignation), instant termination
  • New rules for severance pay (redundancy payment)
  • Delivery of documents and related problems
  • Employment confirmation and reference letter on work performance
  • Fixed-term employment relationship
  • New reason for employment termination – breach of regime of employee temporarily unfit to work
  • Control of observing the regime of employee temporarily unfit to work (ill employee)
  • Vacation – length of vacation, planning, transfer to following year, payment, curtailment of vacation
  • Part time contracts – agreement on work performance (dohoda o provedení práce) and agreement on working activity (dohoda o pracovní činnosti)
  • Maternity and parental leave, maternity leave payment and parental allowance + entitlement for foreign employees, possibility to work during maternity and parental leave, return to work after maternity/parental leave
  • Work at public holiday, overtime work, premiums or compensatory time off
  • Obstacles to work – entitlement for time off and justifications (doctor visits, weddings, funerals etc.)
  • Employee illness – rules for sick notes, payment during employee illness
  • Schedule of working hours – breaks, rest periods, flexible schedule of working hours,  shift models, night work, standby
